PlasticsHard Fabric (HGW)/ Hard paper (HP)
Description:
Hard Fabric (HGW)/ Hard paper (HP) are about 70 years old thermosets.
Structure and properties:
To produce hard fabric, several layers of textile linen or cotton fabric are bonded with the thermosetting phenolic resin. Another form of hard fabric is glass hard fabric, where glass fibers are used instead of linen fibers. In hard paper, paper fibers are used as a filler instead of fabric.
- Very hard
- Abrasion resistant
- Highly thermally resilient
- Electrically insulating
- High vibration and sound insulation
Areas of application:
Engine construction, electrical engineering, gears, heat shields
